For more information please go to: The field of Clinical Biochemistry centers on the biochemical analysis of molecules in body fluids, particularly blood and urine, for the purpose of clinical care. This requires an understanding of physiology, analytical chemistry, and disease for screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. Clinical biochemists work as part of the health care team to ensure chemistry biomarker tests are appropriately offered including selection, development, evaluation, quality control, quality assessment, interpretation, as well as teaching.Clinical biochemists primarily work in hospital and community laboratories but may also apply their skills in diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies.
