Role Description

This is a freelance remote role for a Welding Estimator. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for welding and fabrication projects, reviewing blueprints and technical specifications, and collaborating with customers and team members to understand project requirements. Responsibilities include sourcing materials, calculating labor and production costs, and submitting detailed proposals. The Welding Estimator will also ensure compliance with industry standards and contribute to the successful planning and execution of projects.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in welding, fabrication, and a strong understanding of materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications
• Experience with cost estimation, including labor, materials, and production calculations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients, engineers, and project teams
• Time management and organization skills to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
• Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project compliance with industry codes and standards
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication tools, methods, and safety best practices
• Experience in construction or industrial projects is an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or project management software is advantageous
