About the Opportunity

Our Fort St. John office is looking to add an enthusiastic Civil Engineering Technologist to our Peace Region practice. Our design technologist team is an essential part of our practice and our ability to deliver excellent service to our clients. You will be working with our team members to complete designs from high-level conceptual through to detailed design drawings.

  • Carrying out drafting and design tasks using Civil 3D.
  • Carrying out complex AutoCAD assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Supporting project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations.
  • Communicating with project leaders, team members, and clients regarding project deliverables and schedules.
  • Adhering to client and internal production standards.
  • Ensuring quality control and verifying the accuracy of design production work.
  • Performing quality control and verifying the accuracy of design drawings.
  • Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Developing your civil engineering skills by working alongside a dedicated team of professionals.
  • Working with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software products.

About You

Our preferred candidate is a recent graduate from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent program with up to 2 years of work experience. The following attributes would be considered beneficial to this role:

  • You are proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • You have excellent drafting skills and have a good knowledge of drawing set up and production.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are able to convey complex information to a wide variety of audiences.
  • You are a self-starter who can work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
  • You are detail-oriented and take pride in producing high-quality work.
  • You are committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • You have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • You are registered, or eligible for registration, with ASTTBC, or an equivalent provincial or territorial association, as a Trainee, Applied Science Technologist, or Certified Technician (preferred).

This position will have a salary range of $60, $70,000.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The range is negotiable based on your skillset and experience.
