What You'll Be Doing
As a Procurement Associate Co-op Student, you will be responsible for assisting with communication with suppliers and assembling CIBC's supplier contracts. You will learn how to balance risks and requirements while gaining insight into CIBC's third-party supplier risk management process. You will be trained to assemble lower-risk contracts using CIBC's models and templates. You will also be asked to create analytics and reporting. You'll be asking questions and engaging with suppliers and colleagues from CIBC's internal business units. Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to see situations from others' perspectives.
We are looking for someone interested in contracts and eager to learn about managing risk. You may be considering a future in law or business management.
Additionally, you will become a member of our coveted Solutions Lab, where you will work as part of a team to bring new perspectives to existing CIBC challenges and help suggest and implement solutions that will directly benefit CIBC's Procurement team.

- You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-op program to be considered for this role.

How You'll Succeed
- Drafting Contracts- You write in a simple and clear manner. You are interested in contracts and want to learn more about the impact of contract language.
- Relationship Building- You will respond to assigned requests, providing professional, high-quality customer service for your portfolio to ensure deal delivery and risk mitigation. You will liaise and interact with internal business partners, internal risk stakeholders, and the Procurement team as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
- Collaboration- You love to learn. You're passionate about growing your knowledge, and you know there is no limit to what you can achieve.
- Detail Oriented- You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help inform your decision-making.
