- As a member of Alphawave Semi's Connectivity Products Group, you will help enable the next generation of datacenter interconnects by driving the development of direct detect and Coherent DSP products supporting 800Gbps, 1.6Tbps and beyond interconnects spanning a few millimeters to a few hundred kilometers.
How You Will Contribute
- Reporting to the Director of Applications and Systems Engineering, Connectivity Products Group, you will be a member of the team that works closely with Product Management, Sales and R&D to deliver industry-leading products serving the datacenter interconnects market.
- You will play a key role in delivering the whole product, which includes great support collaterals and support for customers that exceed expectations.
- You will work with and be a trusted partner to technical experts at leading optical transceiver vendors from design to operationalization of our technology into their optical transceiver modules
Senior/Staff/Principal, Product Applications Engineer
As a member of Alphawave Semi's Product Applications and Systems Engineering team, you are responsible for delivering 1st line technical support to customers designing with our state-of-the-art DSP chips. In this role, you will ensure timely responses in enabling, configuring and integrating Alphawave Products into the customer's designs. In addition, you will regularly engage with internal R&D team to provide customer application specific expertise to improve our product offerings.
What You'll Do
- Drive technical communication with customers from kickoff to Production ramp of customer designs, coordinating with internal R&D teams as necessary.
- Author Data Sheets, Product Briefs, User guides and Application notes to enable customers to successfully design with our products or address specific design considerations.
- Support the design of evaluation boards and reference design kits representative of customer applications.
- Validate performance of our products in representative applications.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues during bring-up and validation of customer designs using our products.
- Occasional travel is required
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience which can include board level design, optical module design, or Applications Engineering
- Domain knowledge of high-speed interconnects and technologies including DSPs and/or optics for PAM4 and/or Coherent transmission
- Experience with debug and troubleshooting of firmware and hardware issues with high-speed DSPs, optical components and optoelectronic components and optical modules
It'd Be Amazing If You Had
- Extensive working experience with DSP-based Ethernet Serdes for electrical or optical applications
- Masters/PhD in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or Engineering Science
