Role Description

We are seeking a Protection and Control Engineer for a full-time based in British Columbia, Canada, with occasional remote work flexibility. The candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing protection and control systems for power generation, distribution, and utility projects. Key tasks include creating technical drawings, performing system studies, developing detailed design documents, providing technical support during construction and commissioning, and collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams to execute projects efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Protection and Control System design, including settings calculations, relay coordination, and fault analysis
  • Experience with drafting tools (such as AutoCAD) and preparing technical drawings for substation and power systems
  • Understanding of power system principles and knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA)
  • Strong skills in project management, technical documentation, and coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work independently and collaboratively
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; P.Eng. designation or working towards it is an asset
  • Experience with power system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD) is an advantage
