Senior / Lead Estimator – Construction Earthworks

Location: Edmonton / Beaumont, AB

Job Type: Full-Time, In -person role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Lead Estimator to lead pre-construction pricing, bid strategy, and cost planning for complex construction projects across Edmonton, Beaumont, and surrounding Alberta communities. This role is ideal for a senior professional with strong knowledge of Alberta construction practices, subcontractor markets, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle estimating for large, complex construction projects in Alberta
  • Develop bid strategies, pricing models, and risk assessments
  • Perform and oversee quantity take-offs, pricing, and final bid submissions
  • Lead subcontractor and supplier sourcing and negotiations within the Alberta market
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
  • Support executive leadership with accurate budgets, forecasts, and cost analysis
  • Establish and maintain estimating standards, procedures, and cost databases
  • Lead project handover from pre-construction to operations
  • Travel to job sites and meetings throughout Edmonton, Beaumont, and surrounding areas as required

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior-level estimating experience in the Alberta construction industry
  • Proven experience with large-scale or complex projects
  • Strong understanding of Alberta building codes, safety standards, and contract structures
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability
  • Advanced proficiency with estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, HeavyBid, Sage, Procore, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents

Assets

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional designation (P.Eng, CET, Gold Seal)
  • Experience with CCDC contracts, design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid projects
