Position Summary
The Shipper & Receiver plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials in and out of our facility. This role is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments, receiving and inspecting incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory, dispatching products, and supporting day-to-day warehouse and yard operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate outbound shipments, including preparing shipping documents, selecting carriers, and scheduling pickups and deliveries.
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments, verifying product accuracy and quality.
- Organize and maintain inventory levels; conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Assist with parts and inventory management to ensure proper tracking and material availability.
- Dispatch products as required, working with internal teams and carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- Support import/export processes, including documentation, customs coordination, and cross-border requirements.
- Perform physical work around the facility, including loading/unloading shipments and organizing storage areas.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipping or receiving issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, company procedures, and safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operational costs.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school; post-secondary education in a related field considered an asset.
- Experience working with parts and inventory management.
- SAP experience considered an asset.
- Administrative experience considered an asset.
- Experience with cross-border shipments between the USA and Canada considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
