Modern Angels Healthcare Agency is seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) who speaks Guyanese to provide high-quality, person-centred care to a client in a home setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support as required
- Ensure client safety at all times, following safe work practices and care plans
- Engage the client in meaningful socialization and companionship, including conversations about politics, social issues, and current events
- Support emotional well-being and encourage positive interaction
- Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and the ability to appropriately manage client behaviours
- Observe, document, and report any changes in the client's condition or behaviour
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment
- Promote dignity, independence, and comfort using a person-centred approach
Mandatory Qualifications
- Valid PSW Certificate from a recognized institution
- Completed CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) course
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC)
- Ability to speak Guyanese (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, reliable, and patient demeanor
Assets
- Experience in home care, community care, or working with adults/seniors
- Ability to engage clients in conversation and social activities
