Job Purpose:

The Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of IMS products, from conception to market launch and ongoing optimization. This role plays a key part in defining the product vision, roadmap, and market strategy, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

The Product Manager will work closely with Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Technical Support, and external stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute product initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of market trends, customer challenges, and competitive landscape, enabling data-driven decision-making to enhance IMS's product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap Development

  • Define and manage the product roadmap, aligning with business objectives, customer needs, and market trends.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new features, enhancements, or new product lines.
  • Develop clear market-driven product requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and commercial viability.
  • Set the strategic direction for products, translating high-level goals into operational tasks for cross-functional teams.

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Manage and oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept development through launch, maintenance, and end-of-life.
  • Own the product release process, ensuring smooth coordination between Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, continuously gathering feedback to refine products and improve user experience.
  • Work with Engineering to prioritize product features, balancing technical complexity with business value.
  • Ensure product decisions align with IMS's long-term strategic vision.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact for product-related decisions, ensuring alignment across internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to understand customer needs and incorporate insights into product development.
  • Present product proposals, feature updates, and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and product messaging.

Customer Engagement & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct customer research and meet with clients and prospects to gather insights on pain points, needs, and business challenges.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, analyzing competitors' offerings to ensure IMS products remain competitive.
  • Support pre-sales activities, including the development of product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and customer evaluations.
  • Act as a thought leader and product advocate, ensuring internal teams and customers understand product value propositions.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in product management, preferably in technology or software development.
  • Ability to write clear, market-driven product requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Experience managing multiple time-sensitive projects, with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership, customers, and technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) and other product management tools.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • MBA or relevant bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with telematics, mobility, insurance technology, or SaaS products.
  • Understanding of customer experience (CX) and user interface (UI/UX) best practices.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, pricing strategies, and business case development.

Other Contextual Information:

  • Hybrid role, requiring in-office presence as needed for collaboration.
  • Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings, product demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Due to the geographical nature of the role, availability outside standard UK or North American working hours may be required.
