Position Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing the movement of materials, finished products, and packaging throughout the facility. This role ensures all inbound and outbound shipments are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality control, documentation, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving
- Unload incoming shipments (raw materials, packaging, or finished goods) using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Verify incoming quantities and materials against packing slips and purchase orders in Odoo.
- Inspect materials for damage, contamination, or incorrect labeling; escalate discrepancies to the Plant Manager.
- Accurately record receipts and move goods into designated storage locations following FIFO and segregation requirements.
Shipping
- Pick, stage, and prepare orders for customer delivery following SOPs and TDG requirements.
- Verify product labeling, lot codes, and container integrity before shipment.
- Load outbound trucks in a safe and organized manner, ensuring load security and proper weight distribution.
Inventory & Documentation
- Update inventory movements and work orders in Odoo.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in warehouse, staging, and shipping areas.
- Complete all required paperwork, inspection forms, and digital logs accurately.
Safety & Compliance
- Handle chemicals and containers in accordance with WHMIS, TDG, and company safety policies.
- Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
- Report safety hazards, spills, or damaged materials immediately to the supervisor.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training refreshers.
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations (chemical or manufacturing preferred).
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment.
- Familiarity with Odoo or other ERP systems an asset.
- Basic understanding of WHMIS, TDG, and workplace safety procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 44 per week
