***MUST BE BI-LINGUAL IN FRENCH AND ENGLISH***
We are currently seeking a District Manager to join our growing and innovative company. The District Manager is responsible for building and maintaining a team of merchandising representatives (a mix of full-time and part-time employees). The District Manager must manage the merchandising representatives and drive sales within mass merchandise and grocery accounts. The District Manager will work closely with the Regional Manager and will be responsible for regularly communicating and tracking the performance of the regional team toward goals. Additionally, the District Manager will be responsible for expense control and compliance with all company policies.
The successful candidate will work from a home office and must be flexible to travel up to 50% within their district to conduct field visits and, occasionally, visit the client/Acosta headquarters or attend retailer meetings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for merchandising representatives in their designated district, who provide ongoing sales, training, and merchandising execution services for various clients.
- Be responsible for interviewing and hiring their team, managing all aspects of training, scheduling and executing visits, ensuring all reports are completed, and overseeing overall team performance against objectives.
- Manage field performance results and set individual and team performance goals with a high level of accountability.
- Be able to understand data and develop plans to achieve district and program results.
- Regularly provide field insights and competitive information to clients and field teams within the district.
- Ensure continuous contact, coaching, mentoring, and support—individually and in groups—to guarantee that company results are met and exceeded across the district.
- Demonstrate the proven ability to adapt to an evolving business environment while proactively ensuring the field organization meets or exceeds client expectations — with a strong drive to be the best
- Build strong relationships with store associates and managers through consistent and professional communication.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of management experience in retail, merchandising, training, sales, and/or field marketing
- Previous experience in retail sales management and merchandising in the grocery or mass merchandise sector is strongly preferred
- Home office space with Internet connection required
- Strong computer skills for using the Internet, email, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Natural ability to lead a team in a way that boosts morale and achieves goals
- Professional, outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships quickly
- Highly motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining ethical and professional business practices
- Inform the supervisor daily of field issues such as "red flags," representative disputes, and program-related concerns using solution-focused communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to travel within and outside your territory, as needed
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- This role requires a bilingual candidate. The successful applicant will be expected to post daily updates in English on the client's Microsoft Teams channel, participate in monthly meetings, and maintain consistent, professional communication with the client in English
