We are currently hiring ONE dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (L1, L2, or L3) for a Part-Time Support position. This role is perfect for an educator who genuinely wants part-time work and is open to picking up additional hours when needed - especially for vacation coverage in December and other staff leave throughout the year.

This is not a placeholder role for someone seeking full-time employment elsewhere. We are looking for the right long-term part-time team member.

Position Overview

  • One Part-Time Support Educator position available
  • Flexible hours between 9:00 AM and 5:45 PM
  • Opportunity to take additional shifts when needed (vacation, sick leave, training coverage, etc.)
  • Potential to become the first choice for future permanent openings

Responsibilities

(Vary depending on certification and room assignment)

  • Support primary educators in implementing FLIGHT-based curriculum and daily learning programs. Contribute ideas to curriculum planning and, if possible, provide a sample of program planning or curriculum work.
  • Help maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment, following all health, safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Assist with feeding, diapering, and toileting as applicable.
  • Observe, document, and discuss children's progress; support individualized learning or development plans as needed.
  • Lead activities such as songs, stories, outdoor play, and child-directed art, promoting physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Serve snacks, assist during meals, and organize rest periods, including arranging rooms and furniture appropriately.
  • Build respectful, positive relationships with families, co-workers, and community service providers.
  • Support before-/after-school activities for school-age children, including homework help, enrichment, and social skill development (as needed).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned rooms and shared spaces.

Qualifications

(This posting is for one L1, L2, or L3 candidate)

  • Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Early Childhood Education Certification (required)
  • Must be familiar with Alberta's FLIGHT curriculum
  • Ability to plan and implement curriculum is highly valued. Applicants who can provide a sample of program planning or curriculum work will be given priority.
  • Previous child care/daycare experience
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written English)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current First Aid (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months) – get ahead by starting now via Police Solutions – Edmonton
  • Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented
  • Additional child care–related courses are an asset
  • Experience with Lillio is considered an asset
