Volunteer Toronto is Canada's largest volunteer centre with over 50 years of experience connecting volunteers to the organizations that need them. Our services empower local volunteers to find opportunities that make a positive difference in their community. Through resource development and online training, we also educate and help non-profit organizations and community groups run successful volunteer programs. We have 7 permanent staff members and an annual operating budget of $1 million.

Non-Profit Engagement Coordinator
, you will be the primary contact and lead in facilitating Volunteer Toronto's Subscription program for non-profits and grassroots groups. You will screen and approve subscription applications from non-profits, onboard non-profits to various service offerings included in their subscriptions, and you will support non-profits navigating Volunteer Toronto's online volunteer recruitment portal or learning resources. This role entails a combination of administrative skills to facilitate the subscriptions program and communication skills to effectively engage with non-profit contacts and volunteer managers from across Toronto.
In addition, the Non-Profit Engagement Coordinator will curate lists of non-profits and deploy outreach and relationship-building tactics to increase non-profit and subscriber engagement with Volunteer Toronto's programs. You will help build a sense of community between volunteer managers in Toronto, while influencing non-profits to make positive changes that increase the success of their volunteer recruitment and retention efforts.
Engagement tactics with non-profits will include email, phone and Zoom calls which may be completed as work-from-home. The Non-Profit Engagement Coordinator is expected to attend in person Staff Meetings once a month and may attend in person events or training to strengthen relationships with non-profits and subscribers.

Responsibilities
Subscriptions Administration (45%)
- Monitor and screen applications from non-profit organizations seeking to become a Volunteer Toronto subscriber (daily)
- Onboard non-profit subscribers to Volunteer Toronto's services (daily)
- Reactively answer technical or subject matter inquiries from non-profit subscribers through email, phone or booked appointments (daily)
- Provide feedback to non-profit Subscribers on the content of their volunteer roles posted on , as needed and identified through internal posting review processes
- Collaborate with Volunteer Toronto's Operations Manager to ensure smooth payment processes for non-profits purchasing a subscription and accessing Volunteer Toronto's programs
- Use Volunteer Toronto's digital Customer Relationship Management tools to manage and engage with Subscribers, such as sending automatic reminders, updating webpage content (no HTML experience required), exporting contact lists and tracking complaints
Non-Profit Engagement (40%)
- Conduct list generation and online research for underrepresented/priority sub-sectors to identify non-profit leads for outreach
- Deploy outreach tactics to engage with non-profit audiences and increase uptake of Volunteer Toronto's programs in the sector
- Proactively hold meaningful conversations with non-profit contacts over the phone, through email and Zoom calls, providing resources that meet their identified needs and help organizations enhance volunteer recruitment and volunteer engagement practices
- Support Volunteer Toronto's Civic Spark Microgrant program and grassroots leaders, such as hosting reporting calls with 35 x grassroots groups funded with microgrants
- Work with Volunteer Toronto team members to deliver regular webinars (4-6/year) for Subscribers on Volunteer Toronto's services
- Support Volunteer Toronto's non-profit and partner engagement efforts, such as by co-hosting in-person meetings and deploying outreach tactics to engage organizations in collaborative initiatives
Reporting and Data Analysis (5%)
- Produce monthly updates on Volunteer Toronto's subscription program, including total subscribers, new subscribers joined, subscription attrition trends and service uptake.
- Work with Volunteer Toronto's Communications team to design and optimize data collection strategies with subscribers
- Work with the Communications team to produce an annual data report and webinar on non-profit subscriber representation and needs.
Staff Meetings (10%)
- Attend and participate in monthly in-person staff Jam Days in downtown Toronto
- Attend weekly meetings with your manager (1-hour)
- Participate as a committee member (3-month cycle) in Volunteer Toronto's Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Decolonization committee, and as a staff member in ongoing related efforts

- Experience with or knowledge of volunteer management and/or the volunteerism landscape in our society
- Knowledge of Toronto's non-profit sector and the complex challenges facing cause-based organizations
