Seasonal Shopkeeper

The Distillery Historic District has transformed into a Winter Village, and we're continuing to populate it  The Winter Village is a place to create memories; a place that facilitates joy, celebration, family, and love into the New Year. The festival aims to help guests rediscover the magic and romance of the holidays by bringing together local artisanal food makers, craftspeople and musicians to the heart of the city again If you love spreading joy and sharing smiles – we'd like you to join our village

Our Shopkeepers serve food in many of the beloved cabins that visitors look forward to each year You'll make recommendations, take food orders and collect cashless payments - all while greeting people and spreading cheer to everyone you meet

As a Shopkeeper, here's what you'll get:

• $17.60 per hour, plus tips
• Daily staff meals 
• The opportunity to be a vital part of this celebrated festival

As a Village Shopkeeper, here's what you'll do: 

• Helping customers through the ordering process
• Providing friendly, fast customer service
• Light food assembly and preparation
• Accepting and handling debit and credit transactions with accuracy
• Having knowledge of all the products for sale at your assigned booth
• Assisting with setup and teardown of food booth(s) when scheduled for opening and/or closing shifts
• Ensuring the booth(s) you are working in is appropriately stocked of all products at all times (food, beverages, napkins, condiments, cutlery, etc.)
• Following and ensuring hygiene and safety standards set by the Distillery Restaurants Corp. and Toronto Public Health.

Wish List:

• Flexibility. As per your seasonal contract, you will be required to work between now and January 4, 2026, evenings and weekends (excluding December 25th). You will be scheduled based on your flexible availability. The shifts will range between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m.
• Communication. With many moving parts, our success as a team relies heavily on strong communication skills. You will need to communicate often, respectfully, concisely and clearly, both in face-to-face interactions and over radios.
• High Level of Energy. You can expect to be on your feet for extended periods of time. 
• Strength. You will be expected to perform moderately heavy lifting as needed.
• Positive Mindset. It's the most wonderful time of the year Must be willing to spread joy and positive vibes to all of our guests.
• Snow Angel. Village work happens outside, so you must be prepared to work outdoors and withstand frigid temperatures. 
• Experience. Customer service and/or any hospitality experience is considered a strong asset.
• Eligible. Must be allowed to legally work in Canada.
