Position: AZ Local Delivery Driver (Belleville)

Schedule: 4 day work week | Morning Shifts | 4AM - 7AM Start time

Position OverviewThe AZ Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for covering delivery shifts out of Belleville.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.

  • Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx cases/shift)

  • Build and maintain good customer relationships.   Demonstrates self-control.

  • Accurately collects customer payments. Safeguards company funds and follows GFS banking policies.

  • Performs all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.

  • Performs proper equipment maintenance, monitors reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.

  • Completes daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.

  • Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.

  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment. Completes check in process accurately and on time. Manages paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc

  • Develops and maintains a good working relationship with other GFS employees.

  • Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas. Attending department meetings

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract

  • Proven ability of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs

  • Eligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work with little supervision and be self-directed

  • Professional demeanor under stressful situations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Availability for weekends
