Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres.
  • Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery confirmations and any discrepancies.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
  • Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including stock organisation and inventory checks.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
  • Valid driver's licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car or lorry).
  • Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
  • Experience with commercial driving and knowledge of road safety regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required, often involving bulky or heavy items.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Organised with good time management skills to adhere to schedules efficiently.
  • Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for loading/unloading tasks. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who take pride in their driving skills and customer service abilities, contributing positively to our organisation's reputation for reliability and professionalism.
