This position is a 7 on 7 off shift cycle - Wednesday - Tuesday 4:00pm- 4:00am with one hour unpaid break.

As a General Laborer you play a vital role in ensuring that our clients' linens are cleaned, quality-checked, folded, packaged, and prepared to the highest quality and safety standards. You will work as part of a dedicated team responsible for handling a variety of linen items that include flat sheets, fitted sheets, mattress pads, pillowcases, comforters, and towels. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the production space.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance and mentorship of the Team Lead, the duties and responsibilities of the General Laborer include but are not limited to the following:

· Sort linens by category (flat sheets, fitted sheets, pillowcases, comforters, etc.) to ensure correct processing

· Assist machine operator in maintaining consistent and safe flow of work production

· Be trained in safe operation of washers and dryers

· Load and offload washers and dryers

· Identify and separate stained, damaged, or worn items from production

· Fold clean linen items according to size and type, ensuring consistency and accuracy

· Properly bag folded linens and ensure accurate labelling on the bags for delivery

· Verify that all items meet cleanliness and quality standards before packaging. Make sure you talk to your Team Lead if unsure about product quality

· Ensure the working document (Microsoft Word) containing the different linen items reflects correct quantities to support accurate charging and invoicing by Dispatch Office

Teamwork and Productivity:

· Work efficiently with team members to meet daily production goals and client expectations

· Communicate effectively with Team Lead and coworkers regarding workflow, equipment issues and production matters requiring immediate attention

Safety and Cleanliness:

· Follow all facility safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes steel-toed safety shoes, gloves, smock/ lab coat, dust mask, safety glasses where appliable.

· Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of tripping or fire hazards as well ensure overall cleanliness

· Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or injuries immediately to the Team Lead

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Physical Requirements

o Ability to stand, walk, bend, and concentrate for extended periods of time

o Ability to lift, carry, or move linen bundles weighing up to 30 pounds regularly

o Comfortable to work in a warm, fast-paced production environment

o Manual dexterity and coordination for folding and packaging tasks

o Follow all company safety rules and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions
