Cabinetry Designer

Budget Kitchen Cabinets is a custom cabinets manufacturer servicing the Lower Mainland and located in Surrey BC. We specialize in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, entertainment units, and bar cabinets. As one of the oldest kitchen cabinets companies in the Vancouver Area, we focus on on-time delivery, quality workmanship and superior customer service.

Job Description

We are currently looking to have an experienced full time Cabinet Designer to join our team.

Responsibilities

Cabinet designers are responsible for designing and planning custom cabinets and storage systems. Primarily focused on commercial, residential cabinetry and millwork. Their primary duties include:

  • Consulting with clients to determine their needs and preferences.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as builders, interior designers, and Project Managers.
  • Creating detailed drawings and 3D images of cabinet designs using 2020 Design and Mozaik softwares.
  • Preparing and presenting design concepts and estimates to clients for approval.
  • Working closely with the shop team to ensure feasibility in cabinet designs.
  • Calculating material usage and preparing material orders for purchasing department.
  • Providing the shop with construction drawings and other pertinent job information.
  • Creating cabinet part cut-files in Mozaik software to be used on the CNC router.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong artistic and design skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software 2020 Design and Mozaik
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Knowledge of cabinet construction techniques and materials
  • Problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and create innovative solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and building codes.
  • Ability to read floor plans and other construction documents.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Work out how much materials and labor will cost and advise on how to spend the budget.
  • Collaborate well with different experts to make sure the project is successful.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience minimum.

Education and Qualification

  • Interior design
  • Industrial design
  • 20/20 or Mozaik Program Knowledge (Must)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

A bachelor's degree in one of these disciplines is preferred, but some cabinet designers may have an associate degree or a certificate from a vocational school. Years of experience also qualify.
