Parks Labourer(s).
This is your chance to work outdoors, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the beauty and functionality of our parks and community spaces.
Position Overview:
As Parks Labourer(s), you will assist in maintaining parks, beachfront, sports fields, cemeteries, trails, and facilities, while also supporting scheduled summer special events. Duties include:
- Operating pickup trucks and trailers
- Using riding and push mowers, trimmers, and other garden maintenance equipment
- Performing landscaping and horticultural tasks
- Supporting beautification projects and event setups
Qualifications:
- Preference given to students enrolled full-time in secondary or post-secondary programs for the next academic year
- Strong public relations and communication skills is an asset
- Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Physically capable of performing manual labour and adaptable to all weather conditions
- Experience in beach / park operations, horticulture, or landscaping is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Valid Class "G" Ontario driver's license preferred
- Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and driver's abstract upon hire
- Must have CSA-approved work boots (minimum 6" to cover the ankle)
Hourly Rate:
$17.85 – $19.31 | 40 hours/week
