Job Summary

The Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the depot, ensuring efficient warehouse distribution, and managing a team to meet production goals. This role requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems, heavy equipment operation, and logistics processes. The Depot Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards while optimizing workflow and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the depot, including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory management.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff in the safe operation of equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and reach trucks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing heavy lifting and operating heavy equipment.
  • Oversee order picking, packaging, and loading/unloading processes to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production schedules with warehouse capabilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment and facilities to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for warehouse organization and layout to enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role within distribution or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various types of warehouse equipment safely.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on order picking, packaging, and shipping & receiving processes.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction processes is a plus but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 44 per week
