Role Overview
You'll be the calm, confident first point of contact—consulting, educating, and closing sales while keeping the space organized and on-brand. Success looks like happy returning customers, clean shelves, accurate stock, and a tidy till.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales
- Welcome, consult, and guide customers from greeting to checkout; recommend flavours/devices tailored to needs.
- Execute add-ons/upsells (coils, chargers, pods) and hit daily conversion/AOV targets.
- Verify ID (19+) and follow Ontario retail vape compliance standards.
- Inventory, Merchandising & Store Standards
- Receive stock, scan in, label, and shelve; maintain FIFO and accuracy between shelf and system.
- Run daily restock and weekly cycle counts on fast-moving SKUs; flag low/out and discrepancies.
- Track shrink and damages; maintain tidy backroom logs and bin locations.
- Keep displays to planogram; maintain cleanliness and brand presentation throughout shift.
- Operations
- Process transactions accurately; follow cash/close procedures and incident logs.
- Stay current on product updates, regulations, and promos; share customer feedback with the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–2 years in retail/hospitality with proven customer service and sales results.
- Clear communicator with a calm, professional presence.
- Comfortable with POS and basic inventory workflows (receiving, counts, variances).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
- Knowledge/interest in vaping and flavour profiles is a plus (training provided).
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; evenings/weekends is mandatory.
Preferred
- Boutique or specialty retail background.
- Visual merchandising or content-assist experience (photos/reels of new drops).
- Curiosity and coachability—learn fast, teach customers faster.
Performance Metrics
- Customer Experience: reviews/retention, secret-shopper feedback.
- Sales: conversion rate, average order value, attachment rate on essentials.
- Inventory Accuracy: shrink %, count variance, receiving accuracy.
- Standards & Reliability: on-time opens/closes, checklist completion, cleanliness scores.
Growth Path
High performers can grow into Shift Lead, Supervisor, or Community Marketing Assistant roles as we scale.
Tools You'll Use
Modern POS, basic inventory software, Google Workspace, Instagram for Business, Excel/Sheets for logs.
Compliance & Conduct
Follow Ontario ESA standards, Smoke-Free Ontario / Health Canada retail guidelines, and strict confidentiality for customer and company data.
