About the Opportunity
Responsible for assisting direction and management of dining room services at Parkland at the Common while meeting established customer service standards;Provides leadership in the coordination of dining room staff activities to ensure professional service delivery to residents on a daily basis and for special events;Provides leadership and supervises the provision of dining services respecting the resident's right to individualized services;Assists with food services for special functions ensuring organization, cost efficiency and appropriate staffing is maintained;Coordinates all meal/beverage charges and submits for proper billing;Communicates regularly with residents to ensure satisfaction with food service;Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of respecting resident's rights, including: respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvement;Communicates with the Harmony & Wellness Team if there is a noted change in the nutritional status of a resident (e.g. decrease in appetite);Ensures procedures are followed when alcohol is being served if applicable;Provides on the floor orientation to new staff;About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education;Proof of valid Food Handlers Course, Right to Serve and/or other recognized food safety education required;You can demonstrate a resident-focused approach to service, using strong verbal and written communication skills in English and organizational skills;You have leadership skills, and are able to motivate staff members and build a cohesive team;Ability to motivate staff members and build a cohesive team;You can work flexible hours and shifts (including weekend and holidays) when required;Previous supervisory experience in the hospitality industry is considered an asset;About Us
