Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and organized Dental Practice Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our boutique family owned dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive dental office experience, and proficiency with; scheduling, treatment planning, dental beneftis. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, exceptional patient care, and efficient staff management. The Dental Practice Assistant Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for staff, patients, and vendors, fostering a professional and welcoming environment.
Duties
- Manage daily administrative and clinical operations of the dental practice to ensure efficiency and high-quality patient care
- Supervise dental office staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, onboarding, and employee relations
- Maintain accurate electronic records
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including dental terminology standards and privacy laws
- Coordinate billing, coding, and insurance processing to optimize revenue cycle management
- Monitor practice budgets, manage inventory, and oversee supply procurement
- Implement policies and procedures to improve workflow and patient experience
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Handle patient inquiries, resolve complaints, and promote excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office setting with a strong understanding of dental procedures and workflows
- Prior supervisory or managerial experience in the dental space
- Proficiency with Open Dental or comparable practice management software
- Experience with human resources functions including hiring, training, and staff development
- Familiarity with budgeting, billing processes, and insurance claim procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, and vendors
