Document Control Support

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of Document Control Support is to maintain, control, and distribute technical records for each project and ensure document control processes facilitate smooth transfer of engineering/construction documents.
Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety", adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, act professional and amicable, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.
PROJECT DETAILS
- Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
- Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
- Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
- Travel pay: $400/shift
- Camp retention: $25/day
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Build and maintain relationships with team members / sub-contractors to ensure document control procedures are being followed
- Issue and distribute controlled documents
- Follow project document control systems
- Perform regular audits on field copies of IFC drawings
- Maintain an organized, accurate, and secure document control room
- Ensure received and issued transmittal log is kept current
- Maintain an up-to-date Master Document Register
- Review, submit, and track RFIs
- Updating drawing and document binders as changes are made
- Maintain electronic master files for IFC documents
- Providing support for both the Turnover and Quality Control departments as required
- Ensure documentation at site is stored and controlled according to process
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of construction documentation - P&IDs, ISOs, Structural and Vessel Drawings, Material Test Report would be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc. would be considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous record-keeping skills
- Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Exemplary professional verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working independently with minimal direction
- Must demonstrate knowledge of document control processes.
- Motivated team player with excellent interface skills at all levels
- Previous experience in Quality Control (asset)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of working experience in field is required for this position.
- Must be willing to work at the above project site location
- Previous experience working in an industrial construction industry
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Dynamic, self-disciplines and highly motivated.
- Flexible and capable of working under pressure
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Capable of working as part of a team
- Fluent in speaking and reading English
- Must be able to follow directions
- Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint experience would be considered an asset
