Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Injection Mold Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining injection molding equipment, ensuring high-quality production, and adhering to safety standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and familiarity with manufacturing processes to support efficient and precise mold operations.

Duties

  • Set up, operate, and monitor injection molding machines, including programming and adjusting controllers as needed
  • Adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, time) and mix materials/colorants to meet quality specs.
  • Perform routine inspections of molds and equipment to ensure proper functioning and quality standards
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to verify product specifications
  • Troubleshoot machine issues utilizing mechanical knowledge and basic math skills
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols in the work area, including the use of hand tools and lean manufacturing practices
  • Assist with assembly, packaging, or warehousing tasks as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through adherence to lean manufacturing principles
  • Document production data accurately and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical abilities and knowledge, preferably in the plastics industry with experience in injection molding.
  • Proven experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machinery, CNC lathes, or machining is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations, quality inspection techniques, and assembly processes
  • Ability to operate hand tools, calipers, and other measurement instruments accurately
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection tasks
  • Experience with forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
  • Ability to communicate in English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
