Job Description

We are seeking a Dance teacher to provide engaging and developmentally appropriate dance and movement experiences for children. This role combines specialized dance instruction with general early childhood education responsibilities.

In addition to delivering scheduled dance programming, the educator will support classrooms, assist with daily routines, and participate in staff-to-child ratios during non-instructional times. The successful candidate must hold a recognized Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification and be comfortable working across multiple daycare locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance and movement activities that support children's physical development and creative expression
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and positive engagement in group settings
  • Support daily classroom routines, including supervision, transitions, and play-based activities
  • Participate in staff-to-child ratios and assist in classrooms as required
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment at all times
  • Communicate professionally with daycare staff regarding schedules, programming, and classroom needs
  • Travel between multiple daycare locations (three locations) as scheduled
  • Follow daycare policies, procedures, and licensing requirements

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification (required)
  • Experience teaching dance or movement to young children
  • Background in dance, movement education, or early childhood education is an asset
  • Ability to support both specialty programming and general childcare duties
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C

Schedule

  • Flexible schedule; days and times to be discussed

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
