The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare, reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

· Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

· Assist in the setup and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.

· Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.

· Assist with cleaning of dishware, and cutlery after each seating as required.

· Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.

· Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.

· Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.

· Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.

· Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

· Food Handler's Certificate is required

· Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.

· Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.

· Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

· Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items, and stand/walk for the majority of shift.

· Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

· Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a criminal background check) or be willing to obtain one.
