West Kelowna / Central Okanagan

Juxta Design & Build is seeking a skilled Lead Labourer / Carpenter to join our growing team in the New Year. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in leadership on site, thrives in renovation environments, and enjoys helping build clear systems that lead to consistently successful jobsites.

As a design-build firm, our work is intentional and detail-driven. We believe great projects are the result of strong planning, repeatable processes, and teams who understand how to execute them well. We're looking for someone who not only works confidently within systems, but who is motivated to help refine, improve, and strengthen them over time.

The Role

The Lead Labourer / Carpenter is responsible for managing and performing on-site labour while supporting the development and execution of clear, repeatable processes that ensure quality, efficiency, and consistency across all Juxta jobsites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform on-site labour and carpentry work across active renovation projects
  • Coordinate daily tasks and guide labourers and apprentices on site as the team grows
  • Work within established jobsite systems and workflows to maintain consistency
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes related to site organization, sequencing, quality control, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with leadership to help refine and document jobsite procedures
  • Problem-solve renovation challenges with a calm, solutions-focused mindset
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Design team to execute plans accurately
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
  • Ensure work meets Juxta's standards for craftsmanship, timelines, and professionalism
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with team members, subtrades, and leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in residential renovations (required)
  • Strong carpentry skills with hands-on construction experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience on active jobsites
  • Comfort working within structured systems and processes
  • Ability to contribute ideas that improve efficiency and team performance
  • Ability to read drawings and follow detailed scopes of work
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, accountable, and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

What We're Looking For

You enjoy structure, clarity, and doing things the right way. You understand that great results come from repeatable systems, not guesswork. You take ownership of your site, support your team, and look for ways to make each project run better than the last. You're hands-on, thoughtful, and invested in the success of the team as a whole.

Why Join Juxta

  • Work on thoughtfully designed, high-end renovation projects
  • Be part of a design-build firm that values planning, process, and craftsmanship
  • Opportunity to influence and improve how our jobsites operate
  • Performance-based bonuses that reward growth, leadership, and contribution
  • Leadership development and long-term growth within the company
