Inverness Consolidated Memorial is seeking locum physicians while we actively recruit for permenant placements. Our physician team is proud to operate our Emergency Room 24/7 year-round. With full time access to lab and X-ray services, including CT scanner, we provide a vital source of emergency care to Western Cape Breton. At present, shifts are 12-hour solo coverage and are compensated hourly. 

We are looking into adding a double-coverage option for peak hours and we are keen to support physicians new to emergency medicine to enhance your skills and comfort in this exciting and vital area of rural health care.

Compensation is provided by the service, and locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.

• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
