The life of a SARCAN Regional Manager:
Each and every SARCAN team member is an important part of our team and our community. The SARCAN system includes depots directly operated by SARC or by SARC Members and with that, the level of management oversight varies. As Central Regional Manager, you will be responsible for all or some of the following depending on facility:
- Providing leadership and general management oversight to recycling depots within your region
- Hiring, onboarding, supporting, coaching, and evaluating supervisory staff
- Acting as a primary support for depot supervisors regarding operations, employee relations, and other areas as required
- Ensuring the accountability of depots and compliance with operational procedures for a safe and efficient workplace; this includes regular site visits to depots within your region
- Completing all required documentation and reports in a timely and accurate manner; verifying depot records related to operations, controls, financial transactions, and bank and float reconciliations
- Maintaining good customer and community relations
- Fostering and ensuring an inclusive, cohesive, and respectful work environment
- Participating in professional development and SARC/SARCAN working groups as appropriate
- Performing other duties as assigned
Please note:
This position requires frequent day travel throughout Central Saskatchewan as well as occasional overnight travel within the province. This position offers the flexibility to be based out of Saskatoon and surrounding areas or Regina and surrounding areas. Preference will be shown to applicants in or near Saskatoon, where the majority of the region's SARCAN-operated depots and SARC head office are located.
What are the skills you must have to perform this role?
To be successful as a Regional Manager at SARCAN, you will need:
- Minimum five years of related industry experience, most recently in a supervisory role
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within an organization, as well as external partners
- Judiciousness and political sensitivity when working amongst a diverse group of individuals and organizations is essential
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft 365; experience with Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint is an asset
- Be proactive, accountable and able to work independently
- Commitment to teamwork and meeting team goals
- Ability to work effectively with and coach people with all abilities
- Flexibility and the willingness to change priorities and deadlines as required
- Empathy, a positive attitude, and sense of humour go a long way
- Valid class 5 driver's license and your own reliable vehicle is required
- Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment
