About us

Shady Pines is a beautiful mobile home park tucked into the forest on the edge of Chalk River. The park is home to retirees, CNL workers and Petawawa army base workers. Shady Pines provides a quiet and private space to live with large lots and nature trails on site. All park residents own their homes.

We are seeking an organized, resourceful, and diplomatic Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Shady Pines Mobile Home Park.

Key areas of responsibilities:

  • Coordinating maintenance needs: work with park vendors (landscaping, roads water etc), and at times do light maintenance (lawn mowing, fixing signs, etc)
  • Supporting Park Residents: manage the phone and email for the Park during reasonable "office" hours when residents have questions or need support, and address more urgent issues should they arise.
  • Administration: use the Park property management software to record tenant payments and invoices, and do other basic admin work

This role is vital to help foster a welcoming community and well-maintained environment for Park residents while ensuring efficient management of park resources. At times, we'd also like this role to be able to serve as a back up water tester for the park and will be provided with (and must complete) all necessary training.

To apply, you will need access to a phone to access the park line (don't worry, you won't incur any charges and nobody will have your personal number) and a computer to access the park email, Google Drive and property management program. You will also need access to a vehicle to travel regularly to the park.

This is a mostly remote position, with hours that will vary at times:

All of the administrative work can be handled remotely, but you will need to check in on the park every week. Sometimes this will be just to drive through to make sure everything is ok and say hello to some folks, and other times, it will be to meet with residents who have questions, or to check on issues.

You will excel in this role if you are:

  • Great with people - diplomatic, kind, and professional
  • Good, clear and timely communicator
  • Calm in the face of pressure - and a great problem solver
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable with email and using a simple computer program
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and having a chat with residents
  • Competent with basic budgeting
  • Flexible.... hours range throughout the year. Although you can schedule most of the work, urgent issues will arise from time to time which will increase your hours.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
