Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for 1 Full-time (1.0 FTE) Education Assistant and 1 Full-time (1.0 FTE) Early Childhood Education Assistant at Whitecourt Central School.

Successful candidate responsibilities:

  • working with students one-on-one & in groups in a classroom

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school
  • Understand and carry out oral and written direction
  • Work independently with minimal instruction
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Practice professionalism with all WCS students, staff, administration, parents and public
  • Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures
  • Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and patience
  • Enjoys working in a team environment

Start Date:

  • ASAP

Hours:

  • 30 hours per week

Wage Rate:

  • $20.44/hour - $29.65/hour depending on qualifications and experience
