ACE Health Care is a multidisciplinary specialist medical clinic located near Metrotown, Burnaby. We are looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinic to support our two rheumatologists with their expanding practice. We require a detail-oriented, organized individual with an energetic, bright, and warm personality who is highly motivated to learn and grow with our expanding practice. The successful candidate will thrive working in a positive and engaging multidisciplinary team. Problem-solving, accountability, and dependability are integral to this role.

You will work alongside the rheumatologist seeing patients during follow-up visits to:

  • Briefly review how the patient has been since their last visit (e.g. how their arthritis is)
  • Update the chart using Plexia EMR (reviewing any new diagnoses, updating medication list, entering labs)
  • Checking vitals (blood pressure and weight)
  • Educate on rheumatology diagnoses
  • Overall health promotion
  • Completing disease activity questionnaires
  • Helping with special authority form completion for advanced therapeutics

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing)
  • Ability to effectively/efficiently use an electronic medical record system
  • Prior education in the field of rheumatology not necessary. Training specific to rheumatologic diseases and frequently used medications will be provided.

Hours:

  • This position is part time on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-5pm. Working hours may be extended and new days added as the physicians' clinic time expands. Note that the physician schedules are subject to change based on hospital call, and there are times when clinics may not be required or will finish early.

Wages:

  • Wages are based on level of experience.
  • Extended health benefits are not provided.
