Maplewood Academy is looking for an experienced and passionate leader to fill in and supervise our flagship early education facility in Mississauga. Our ideal supervisor will have at least three years' experience supervising or managing a daycare or kindergarten, and be able to oversee the teaching staff, licensing and general day-to-day operations of our centre. Our supervisor will be caring towards staff, students and families, and support them with a positive attitude.

This is a temporary position, as our regular supervisor is on an extended personal leave. Should they opt to not return, the option of extending this position to permanent full-time will be explored.

An assistant supervisor and additional office staff will also be onsite to aid with all regular tasks and duties.

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU OFFER:

You are a caring, compassionate and hard-working leader who has built these skills over the past 3-5 years. These years have been spent working in other early care facilities, and you have been an assistant supervisor, supervisor, manager or director for at least the past year. Your experience with MOE licensing and compliance, as well as your ability to manage CCEYA expectations are key skills you possess. You are familiar and comfortable managing our relationships with the MOE, PPH, CDRCP, PIRS and other regular visitors to childcare centres. You enjoy working on a team of other high-level educators, and can both deliver and receive constructive criticism when necessary. Above all, your charisma and passion for early education is what sets you apart from other candidates. Even though you have been in the education world for many years, you anticipate many more exciting years to come.

In addition to these personality traits and acquired skills, you also meet the following mandatory qualifications:

  • A valid CPR level C certificate
  • A vulnerable sector criminal record check
  • RECE is in good standing
  • Experience with:
  • CCEYA
  • MOE licensing, municipal bylaws and compliance expectations
  • Fire and health department expectations
  • Recording of admissions records, withdrawals, wait lists
  • Labour relations and employment standards
  • All immunizations are up-to-date
