About the Company

Insight Global is in search of a Project Designer for a leading civil engineering customer in Peterborough for projects in their Land Development Engineering Department. This is a hybrid role requires 3x/week on site Peterborough.

About the Role

As a Project Designer, you will enhance our client's site servicing and stormwater management teams by preparing engineering drawings and technical documents. You will play a crucial role in their land development services, leveraging strong partnerships to deliver optimal solutions for their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Create contract drawings (site plans, grading plans, servicing plans and erosion and sediment controls plans) using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
  • Draft design/technical reports
  • Conduct field reviews
  • Prepare cost estimates and quantity calculations
  • Develop tender documents
  • Prepare various design and presentation materials, including drawings.
  • Liaise with staff, clients, agencies, and sub-consultants during the design phase
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design issues
  • Provide updates on the progress of design projects
  • Ensure design integrity throughout design development, detail design, tendering, and construction

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong experience drafting design/technical reports
  • Strong experience preparing tender documents
  • Excellent time management skills to meet project timelines.
  • General knowledge of various design standards and requirements, such as OPSS and OPSD.

Pay range and compensation package

Salary (starting at) $60,000
