Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful student will work alongside the Operations and Maintenance teams who are ultimately responsible for achieving maximum efficiency, reliability, and safety of the plant operations. This is a unionized position.

To qualify for this position, you must be scheduled to return to school at the end of the work term as an Industrial Millwright.

Responsibilities and tasks you may experience during your placement

  • Participating in maintaining gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, a triple pressure steam turbine, pumps, motors, fans, compressors, gearboxes, valves and associated ancillary equipment. This includes signing out materials, updating work orders and creating follow-up work orders as required
  • Participate in lubrication functions such as greasing, oil sampling, and oversight of contractors performing any of these functions
  • Communicating effectively through our computerized maintenance management system, SharePoint as well as Outlook email
  • Performing various safety functions including lockout, hazard assessment/job safety analysis
  • Participating in routine preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment

Requirements

  • Enrolled in school the following term as an Industrial Millwright 
  • Team player attitude
  • Driver's license and access to vehicle – Atura plants are not accessible by transit 
  • Willingness to be certified and to operate site forklift (training will be provided)
  • Strong safety driven attitude following all site policies and procedures

Physical Demands

  • Lifting / moving up to 50lbs
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights and/or in confined spaces (training will be provided)
