Tactical Security Guard – Retail Store (Pickering, ON)

Location: Retail Store- Pickering, Ontario

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time (Immediate Start)

Shift: Day and evening shifts available

About the Role

247 Gard Security is seeking a licensed Tactical Security Guard for a retail location in Pickering. The ideal candidate will have Use of Force certification, retail security experience, and the ability to manage theft prevention and customer interactions in a professional, controlled manner.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct exit checks, including verifying receipts and inspecting bags of customers when required.
  • Monitor and deter theft, ensuring a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
  • Recover stolen merchandise when safe and appropriate, in accordance with site procedures.
  • Physically intervene or de-escalate situations when absolutely necessary to prevent loss or ensure safety.
  • Maintain a professional, visible presence and build positive rapport with store staff and management.
  • Complete detailed incident and activity reports through the staff app.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid Use of Force / Tactical Handcuff Certification
  • Retail security or loss prevention experience required
  • Strong communication, situational awareness, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and physically fit
