We are seeking a multiple highly motivated Planners who has a passion for and deep understanding of urban development and has experience in obtaining approvals for development projects to join our team. O2 specialises in working with developers that are pursuing transformative, complex, urban city-building projects.   We are seeking multiple Planners at the intermediate (2 to 5 years) and senior level (5 to 10 years)  to provide planning and design services to O2 clients, delivering innovative solutions and project success in collaboration with the O2 team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the City of Calgary planning application approval process and professional responsibilities with a focus on development approvals. This role is ideal for an individual who is self-motivated, entrepreneurial and has a commitment to pursuing innovation and excellence in planning and development.  Key responsibilities
  • Coordinates and manage the approval process for various O2 Development Applications.
  • Prepares planning applications and submissions to the City of Calgary.
  • Manages and participates in stakeholder outreach activities.
  • Prepares and coordinates graphic presentations.
  • Collaborate with the O2 team across disciplines (planning, urban design, landscape, data analytics) to complete deliverables and meet project expectations.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to approvals and permits.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks or roadblocks in the approval process.
  • Liaises with clients and consultants and provides project management and planning advice under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
  • Responds to and prepares proposals under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
  • Embodies O2's values and demonstrates a professional demeanor.

Qualifications Candidates should have a Professional degree in Planning, or related field (ideally masters level) in addition to 2-10 years prior work experience. An awareness of current planning policy and industry standards is a must. Strong competencies in graphic programs (Adobe Creative Cloud) are required. Having an entrepreneurial mindset, high energy, innovative thinking and a dynamic approach to urban design and planning would make an ideal fit to our firm.  Submission Requirements Interested applicants should submit the following:
