As a Fitter /  Welder, you are responsible for welding metal components together to form a final product that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of a strong understanding of welding techniques and an eye for detail to produce the highest quality welds. Location: 141 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON (Position will begin at 100 Savage Drive in Cambridge, and relocate to Paris once Fabrication transitions.) Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm – 1:00am, Monday - ThursdayShift Premium: $3.00 per hour in addition to the base rateJob DutiesRead and follow technical drawings and blueprints to understand the welding requirements for each productEnsure proper materials are selected for each job to weld together metal componentsFollow safety protocols and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuriesOperate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to complete large welding jobsInspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specificationsEnsure welding machines are properly calibratedRepair and rework welds as neededCommunicate with supervisors to ensure production schedules are metSkills & ExperienceAdapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected eventsRequired to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing specifications, procedures, and work instructionsAssembly welding tasks require collaboration with team members, effective communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions when working on projects that involve multiple team membersPhysical requirements include standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending while weldingExtreme temperature exposure to weather changes (heat)QualificationsKnowledge of fabrication processes including fitting with the assistance of a fixture and weldingAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsWhat We Can Offer You Family-Oriented Company: Lots of social events, BBQ's, pizza parties and more Competitive Wages and Profit Sharing: In addition to competitive wages, we celebrate our financial success together through profit sharing. RRSP Matching Program: Retirement planning?
