Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in project planning and bidding processes, ensuring accurate cost assessments and competitive proposals. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and techniques to deliver precise and reliable estimates that support successful project execution.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other bid documents.
  • Utilize estimating software such as accubid to develop accurate cost projections.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and scope information.
  • Conduct negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning based on estimate requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, assumptions, and correspondence for future reference.
  • The role involves supporting the successful bidding process and ensuring project profitability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes and terminology.
  • Proficiency in Accubid and other relevant estimating or project management software.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to handle multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction pricing strategies, labor costs, material costs, and market trends.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and external partners.
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
  • Prior experience in construction or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to grow their expertise.
