We are dedicated to crafting excellence in every vine, cultivating multiple distinct grape varieties including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Marechal, Foch and Regent, across our varied geographic locations from as far south as Osoyoos to as far north as Vernon.
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Maintenance Handyman/woman for a temporary 3-month contract. This role is based out of our West Kelowna, BC winery located at 3725 Boucherie Road. .This temporary position is responsible for ensuring the ongoing operation and upkeep of our winery and its facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work and gain experience in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of a leading winemaking establishment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work as required.
- Perform grounds keeping duties, as required.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of events and functions hosted at the winery.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Occasional travel is required to work at sites in Osoyoos and Vernon.
- Adhere to workplace safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Maintenance: 2 years (preferred)
- Carpentry: 3 years (preferred)
- Handyman experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Organized, self-directed, and communicative; comfortable working independently and in a small team.
- Ability to lift/move parts up to 50 lbs and work in varying conditions.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.
- Valid safety certifications (First Aid Level 1 (or higher), WHMIS, Fall Protection, Mobile Equipment) an asset.
