Summary

The Strategic Consulting Advisor is a high-level specialistwho will ultimately provide services in three areas:

1. Management Consulting: tactical support, strategic planning, organizational diagnosis, supply management, organizational transformation.

2. Process Optimization: reduction and  control of operating cost, increase in the level of operational efficiency and quality of services, sustainability of the function.

3. Change Management: maximizing the return on a project's investment (buy-in, usage and good usage), supporting human capital in the transformation, circumspection of risk and resistance to change.

Responsibilities

Management consulting: 

  • The consultant may be called upon to support an organization's senior management in determining its strategic orientations, in planning the development of its corporate resources (human, material, financial, informational, etc.), as much as in establishing a diagnosis or in conducting a compliance review. 
  • Provide or encourage important reflection on how to achieve results or complete the organizational mission.

Process optimization:

  • Strategic Consulting interventions can take different angles depending on the scope of the need. At a basic level, the intervention may be aimed at reducing operating costs, optimizing operational efficiency and maximizing profitability. 

  • However, in a context of digital transformation, its intervention will have to pave the way for future change in order to not only deploy optimized processes, but also to maximize the adoption of new technological tools. 

  • Also, the consultant's process optimization intervention can be aimed at facilitating or securing technological choices based on a specific business environment. 

Change management:

  • The strategic consulting services consultant is the architect of the human resources management of a project. 
  • Working closely with the project manager, he or she has great influence to ensure that projects meet their objectives within the prescribed timeframe and budget. His focus on the human side of change (in addition to the technical side) obviously covers elements related to changes in processes, systems, technologies, roles and responsibilities, as well as organizational structures. 
  • His main responsibilities are to create and implement strategies that will allow the end-user to maximize buy-in and adoption of the new processes and tools, while minimizing resistance to change. To achieve these goals, uses proven methodologies, conducts risk analysis and mitigation strategies, plans resistance management, manages field teams, drives the communication plan, sponsor itinerary, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan. 
  • Works closely with communication and training efforts, participates in the mobilization of executives, managers and supervisors. 
  • Also coordinates achievements involving human resources and other areas of the organization. 
  • Evaluates the level of organizational and individual maturity of the upcoming change while deploying the necessary operating conditions for success. 

Interpersonal and Professional Skills

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in human resources, industrial relations or other relevant field
  • PROSCI certification or other methodology
  • SixSigma Black Belt certification 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in change management and process optimization
  • High emotional intelligence 
  • Strong Customer Experience / Employee Experience orientation
  • Participative, inclusive, mobilizing management approach
  • Management by results, mastery of dashboards
  • Strong understanding of how people experience change and the change process
  • Experience with PROSCI's ADKAR model
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Ability to influence others and move towards a common vision or goal
  • Flexibility and adaptability: ability to work in ambiguous situations
  • Organized with a natural inclination to plan strategies and tactics
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project life cycle
  • Experience with large to medium scale organizational change efforts

     

Asset Qualifications

  • Member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines
  • Experience as person in charge of change management during deployment of HR integrated solutions (main asset)
