Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Asset Protection Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding company assets, preventing theft, and ensuring a secure environment across our retail locations. This role requires a vigilant and proactive individual with a strong understanding of loss prevention strategies, surveillance techniques, and security protocols. Prior experience in law enforcement or security is highly valued. The Asset Protection Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety of employees, customers, and company property through effective monitoring and intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor store premises using CCTV systems and other surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity or potential theft.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the store to observe customer and employee behavior, ensuring adherence to security policies.
  • Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or vandalism by gathering evidence and documenting findings accurately.
  • Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies when necessary to address security concerns or criminal activity.
  • Implement loss prevention strategies by identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to security procedures.
  • Assist in training staff on security protocols and loss prevention techniques.
  • Maintain detailed reports of security incidents and surveillance activities for management review.
  • Respond promptly to alarms or security breaches, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or loss prevention is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV technology.
  • Excellent observational skills with the ability to identify suspicious behavior quickly.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
  • Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, loss prevention techniques, and legal considerations related to surveillance and apprehension.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a proactive approach to asset protection.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining vigilance throughout shifts. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the safety and integrity of our operations while developing valuable skills in security management.
  • Our services also includes assisting the store or businesses during off peak hours or days (activities not necessarily related to security services)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal, Freelance, Apprenticeship, Internship / Co-op

Pay: $17.20-$31.54 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 1 per week
