Behaviour Aide (Independent Contractor Position)

Aurora Rising LTD – Calgary, Airdrie & Surrounding Communities

Aurora Rising LTD is seeking empathetic, engaged, and self-motivated Independent Contractor Behaviour Aides to support children with developmental needs. This role is ideal for individuals who want hands-on experience in psychology, education, and child development while making a meaningful difference in a child's daily life.

We are currently hiring for an immediate independent contractor position in Airdrie and North West Calgary, with additional contractor opportunities available across Calgary and surrounding areas.

Overview

As aBehaviour Aide with Aurora Rising, you will:

  • Provide individualized in-home support to children with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and a multidisciplinary team—including psychologists, BCBAs, and Behaviour Therapists—to implement guided intervention strategies.
  • Work 4–15 hours per week, based on caseload and your availability.
  • Use play-based interactions, daily routines, and proactive teaching strategies to support learning.
  • Prepare goal-based activities and required materials for sessions.
  • Document each visit and complete progress summaries as requested.
  • Travel to client homes in assigned regions.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applicants who:

  • Are currently enrolled in or have completed programs such as Psychology, Child Studies, Education, Social Work, or related fields.
  • Enjoy working with young children and can adjust to their individual needs and strengths.
  • Are reliable communicators and open to ongoing learning and collaboration.
  • Have an interest in behaviour, child development, behaviour analysis, psychology, social work and implementation of evidence-based interventions.
  • Can commit to a minimum 6-month independent contractor agreement.

Required Documents & Certifications

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check (completed within the past month; renewed annually)
  • Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C or equivalent)
  • Proof of education, enrollment, relevant experience, and/or related training

Compensation & Contract Details

  • Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour (up to $23.18 based on experience)
  • Contract Type: Independent Contractor
  • Hours: 4–15 hours per week
  • Location: In-person, in client homes
  • Immediate Need: Airdrie & North West Calgary
  • Additional Positions: Multiple locations available
  • Dress Code: Casual

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$23.18 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44 per week
