Entertainment Manager

Overview

MaxxGames is Ottawa's largest indoor inflatable park and laser-tag venue. We specialize in birthday parties, group events, and fun-filled entertainment for kids and families. We're seeking an experienced, mature (35+) Manager to join our team. This person will lead staff, oversee bookings and events, and ensure every party runs smoothly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and execution of birthday parties and group events (set-up, food/pizza orders, laser-tag sessions, inflatables, etc.).
• Manage and supervise on-site staff: assign roles, monitor performance, and ensure excellent customer service from greeting to exit.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients on the day of events — greet and check in parties, handle last-minute changes, and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and organized before, during, and after each event (tables, equipment, inflatables, party area).
• Handle scheduling of parties, extra players, pizzas, drinks and any add-ons; confirm RSVPs and manage bookings.
• Enforce venue policies (e.g. no outside food/drinks except cake/pizza, footwear/socks rules, capacity limits, safety rules). MaxxGames+1
• Maintain inventory (pizza orders, drinks, supplies) and ensure smooth logistics with kitchen/food orders and party supplies.
• Communicate with parents or group organizers before and during the event to confirm numbers, extras, and payment details.
• Collect payments or ensure proper invoicing as required, and coordinate with accounting for payouts / financial records.
• Provide friendly, professional, and customer-focused leadership; ensure clients have a positive experience from start to finish.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum age: 35 — we prefer a mature, responsible professional comfortable leading a team and working with families and children.
• Prior experience in hospitality, event management, party planning, or entertainment venue management is strongly preferred. Roles like event manager, party coordinator, or operations supervisor are ideal. Workstream+1
• Strong leadership skills: ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive, customer-oriented atmosphere.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills — able to interact clearly and kindly with families, children, and staff.
• Comfortable working weekends (Saturdays especially) — our busiest days when most parties occur.
• Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask under pressure during busy party slots or peak hours.
• Basic administrative and problem-solving skills (booking adjustments, on-the-fly changes, supply and staffing issues).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
