Our culture is rooted in our values, leadership accountability, and the growth and development of our Ambassadors.The Alberta-based Director, Development contributes to the overall success, short, and long term growth strategies of Coast Hotels by participating as a member of the Development team and assisting in growing the Coast Hotels' brand through the development of profitable and quality franchise agreements and management contracts. This involves assisting with the maintenance of existing relationships and the development of new relationship with franchise and management ownership groups and other investor stakeholders while contributing to exceptional Ambassador and guest satisfaction.Responsibilities:Business Leadership: responsible to assist in taking the company into the future, establishing goals, seeking opportunities for growth and improvements, anticipating requirements and managing change.Maintains industry and professional expertise by participating actively in industry and professional eventsWorks with the Senior Vice President, Development and BC Based Director, Development to anticipate and identify organizational change initiativesWorks with the Senior Vice President, Development and BC Based Director, Development to support the development and clear articulation of the company brand, ensuring Coast Hotels' strategies and initiatives are in line with delivering a brand-consistent product/serviceUnderstands and stays current with the world of hotel brands, parent companies, sub brands, new brands, differentiators and moreOperational Leadership: Puts in place the systems, structures and discipline practices required to manage results, including planning, prioritizing, providing clear direction, ensuring accountability, monitoring the achievement of financial, quality, safety and other key business measures.Assists in the monitoring of and performing due diligence on management contracts, identifying problem areas, proactively taking charge of solutions, performing property inspections, assessing new buildings for fit and being accountable for functional area performanceMonitors systems, structures, and practices to ensure consistency in the delivery of brand and guest experience across properties.Maintains positive relationships with management and franchise ownership groupsPeople & Culture Leadership: Connecting with and engaging Ambassadors in their work and ensuring that Ambassadors feel recognized and valued.
