Overview

Front of House (FOH) Shift LeadRole Summary

As a FOH Shift lead you're cross-trained to lead the front door and deliver table service. You set the tone at the entrance, manage guest flow, and provide warm, efficient service on the floor. You uphold Boston Pizza hospitality standards, support teammates, and keep shifts smooth from open to close.



Responsibilities

Employment Type

Part-time or Full-time; must be available at least 2 weekdays and 2 weekend shifts, with late-night closing availability. Shifts range from 8-10hrs as business requires (with health breaks)

What You'll Do
  • Guest Greeting & Seating: Welcome guests within 30 seconds, quote accurate wait times, manage the waitlist, and seat using a fair rotation.
  • Table Service:Take orders, upsell appropriately, run food/drinks, check back, process payments, and close checks accurately when needed
  • Flow & Coordination: Balance server sections, coordinate with kitchen, bar, takeout, and delivery; anticipate bottlenecks.
  • Standards & Safety: Follow BP brand standards, Smart Serve rules, and food-safety/cleanliness protocols.
  • Guest Recovery: Handle concerns with empathy and escalate when needed; document incidents.
  • Team Play: Jump on door, expo, runner, or bus where needed; keep sidework current.
Qualifications
  • minimum 2+ years in full-service dining (host and/or server experience an asset)
  • Smart Serve (Ontario) required; Food Handler certification an asset
  • POS proficiency, strong communication, calm under pressure
  • Able to lift up to ~25 lb, stand/walk for long periods
Success Looks Like
  • Greeting time under 30 seconds and managing delivery drivers and in-person guest seating
  • Table turns in a timely manner
  • High guest satisfaction (Google reviews, in-store feedback)
  • Order accuracy and minimal comps/voids
  • Clean, organized host stand and sections all shift
  • Managing daily reservations and floor seating pla
  • Overseeing other staff on shift and having a clear communication on floor requirements and responsibilities
Compensation

Hourly wage + tip share and/or server gratuities per location policy.
