Security Guard - Part Time - Waterdown
Site Overview: This is a high-security manufacturing and office facility supporting advanced technology operations. The site includes administrative, engineering, and production areas, requiring strict access control, continuous monitoring, and proactive patrols. Security plays a critical role in protecting personnel, assets, and sensitive information while maintaining a safe, professional, and compliant environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Position: Part TimeSecurity Guard
Site: Highway 6 & Dundas Street E, Waterdown
Hours: Saturday & Sunday hrs)
Pay Rate: $20.60/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement after 88 hrs

Key responsibilities:
- Protect property, assets, personnel, and visitors
- Control and monitor access for staff, visitors, contractors, and vehicles
- Conduct proactive interior and exterior patrols to identify safety, security, and maintenance issues
- Respond to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and service calls
- Monitor and operate security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)
- Provide professional customer service and assistance to visitors and employees
- Handle lost & found items and maintain key, radio, and pager logs
- Identify and report unsafe working conditions and facility damage
- Provide first aid and medical assistance when required
- Respond calmly and professionally to all types of occurrences and crises
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for a diverse community
- Ensure all security measures are operational and report deficiencies
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Address policy breaches and document facility concerns
- Complete clear, accurate, and detailed incident reports
Requirements:
- Must meet eligibility criteria for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, which includes: Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, continuous residency in Canada for the past five years, a clean credit and police record, and the ability to provide satisfactory 3 personal and 3 professional references
- Proficiency in Computer literacy
- Ability to sit/stand and walk/climb stairs throughout the building & push min. 25lbs
- Minimum of one year of experience in a security role is required
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License & First AID CPR C
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- COVID19 Vaccination
- Customer Service Experience is considered an asset
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
