Plumbing Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Gravity Plumbing (Union Commercial Division)

Gravity Plumbing is looking to add a Plumbing Project Manager to support and strengthen our growing commercial construction division. This role is critical to ensuring projects are properly planned, supplied, tracked, and invoiced so jobs run efficiently and profitably from start to finish.

This position works closely with the Plumbing Manager, foremen, estimators, and office team to ensure scopes are executed correctly and margins are protected.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Field Support

  • Manage assigned commercial plumbing projects from turnover through closeout
  • Understand full plumbing scopes and contract requirements
  • Attend site meetings as required and support foremen with technical or coordination issues
  • Act as a point of contact between field, office, and other trades when needed

Materials & Procurement

  • Order materials accurately and on time, based on drawings, specifications, and scope
  • Ensure proper materials are being ordered — not just "what's easy" or "what we've always used"
  • Coordinate deliveries to site to avoid delays and double-handling
  • Work with suppliers to control pricing, lead times, and returns

Submittals & Documentation

  • Prepare and manage plumbing submittals
  • Track approvals and ensure site is building from approved materials
  • Maintain organized project documentation

Financial Management

  • Track project costs against budget
  • Understand labour, material, and subcontractor costs
  • Assist with monthly progress invoicing
  • Support change order pricing and tracking
  • Maintain awareness of project profitability and flag issues early

Inventory & Controls

  • Understand inventory levels and material usage
  • Work with the team to reduce waste, over-ordering, and lost materials
  • Support improved material and cost controls across projects

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems
  • Experience in a project management, coordination, or senior field role
  • Comfortable reading drawings, specifications, and scopes
  • Familiar with submittal and approval processes
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Financial awareness understands how projects make or lose money
  • Union commercial experience is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
